What it is...

What it is not.

PictureWOMAN-up! Conference in Baltimore, MD.
The Black Woman's Agenda is a set of training units designed to improve to socio-economic condition of Black families by improving the condition of Black women.

After nearly 30 years of successfully contributing to Black women raising their standards, our founding mother, Chief LeTava Mabilijengo upped the ante of our work. She officially established The Black Woman's Agenda, an institute of Self-Development to serve the womanhood development society for nation-builders in the Afrikan diaspora.

Ancient civilizations have always embodied societies-- closed sectors of the nation where inclined or gifted individuals are groomed to become specialists in their respective fields. Thus does The Agenda. By offering various opportunities for adults to participate in communiversity styled courses in self-development, we contribute greatly to the improved physical, spiritual, emotional, psychological, economic and social health of our people.

Agenda courses focus primarily on five principled areas:
  1. Knowledge of self
  2. Protecting the sisterhood
  3. Prioritizing our children
  4. Economic development
  5. Healthy Black love relationships

The Agenda is NOT a man-hating group of women who have turned their backs on Black men. Quite the contrary, sistahs learn to love and develop themselves in a way that best prepares us all for healthy love.

The Agenda is NOT a divisive "gender war" feeding environment. Instead, we understand that in order to heal our families, both women and men need private space to work through some things. It is a proven fact that when classrooms are segregated by gender, academic scores go up. This is because the pressure to impress or save face in front of the other sex is removed and some core issues can be addressed. This allows for much needed space to grow stronger in critical areas of our development. This way, when we return to one another, we are in a much healthier place of acceptance.

And finally, The Agenda in no way supports the abuse of anyone (adult or child). Nor do we believe that a person's chosen lifestyle should be imposed on others simply because it's what one person sees as best for them. Chief LeTava states very clearly that, "...as long as it does not involve children or animals, and all adults are consenting, stay outta grown folks bedroom business when uninvited."

The principles of The Agenda will always prioritize the children. So, as long as what the adults need to better themselves does not in anyway compromise the well-being of the children... we must be willing to do whatever it takes to save, heal and restore our families.
